Why do I do this to myself. So, this is a small little guide for people who don't really know about the Sengoku Era and the figures and appear in Sengoku Basara! Should anyone ever need a quick reference as to what they're famous about, it should be here or something... yeah IDK. Anyway this is also coupled with some other information what not, so that we all won't be lost as to who is who and what happened and stuff like that.

dragon's lair ☈ oshu.
		Date Masamune [伊達政宗] Leader of Oshu, known as 'head', 'boss' or 'leader' to his men. Currently ~~nineteen~~ twenty years of age, noted as one of the youngest warlords within the canon. Possesses powers of electricity, and wields six swords known as the 'Six Claws of the Dragon'. Due to his temperament and his lone eye, he has come to be known and addressed by many as Oshu's 'One Eyed Dragon', or the dokuganryu [独眼竜]. Taken from the anime version of the canon, right after his defeat of Hideyoshi in season two. In Death City he is a Meister, granted the ability of Soul Boost and is currently partnered to Dante Sparda from Devil May Cry. Lives in Fatality Condominiums 2A.

Katakura Koujurou [片倉小十郎]

Date's closest and most trusted retainer, otherwise known as the 'Right Eye of the Dragon' or Ryū no Migime [竜の右目]. Over thirty years of age, but is still fit as a fiddle and more than ready to give his all in the name of his lord as well as Oshu. Wields two swords (his main weapon known as the Black Dragon), and possesses powers of electricity and lightning. Comes from the second season anime version of the canon, after having defeated Hanbei and witnessed his death. A Weapon, his form being that of the Black Dragon (a nodachi) itself; as of now partnered to Vergil Sparda (aka Dante's twin brother) from Devil May Cry, and he lives with his lord in Fatality Condominiums 2A along with Date's partner Dante as well as Ieyasu, along with Itsuki too.

Itsuki [いつき]

A girl hailing from one of the clans in Oshu, despite her young age of twelve she is a girl with a big heart and a strong motivation to do what she believes is right. Coming from the game version of the canon (post second game to be precise), she once attempted to fight against the samurai oppressing her village, but she was stopped and saved by none other than Date Masamune himself and the two have formed a steadfast friendship since. Wields a giant rice hammer apparently granted to her by the Goddess of Rice and is also gifted with the power over ice, which carries over to Death City with her Meister ability of Icy Soul. Unpartnered as of now, and stays with Date and his company (Koujurou, Dante and Ieyasu) in Fatality Condominiums 2A.

tiger's den 火 land of kai.
		Sanada Genjiro Yukimura [真田幸村] Head retainer of Takeda Shingen, and also Kai's greatest warrior (after Shingen himself). Only at the age of seventeen, but has fought and lived through many battles and exploits which indeed show much in regards to his abilities - due to this, he has earned the name of Kai's Young Tiger (wakai no tora, 若の虎). Practitioner of spears, he uses two of them in his battles to great strength along with his abilities of fire. Hails from the anime version of the canon as well, he is taken from the end of the first season and thus has no knowledge of Hideyoshi yet. He is a Meister with the technique Soul Battlecry and partnered to one Honda Tohru of Fruits Basket, living with her at Death City Heights 62D.

Sarutobi Sasuke [猿飛佐助]

Retainer to Yukimura himself, Sasuke is also Yukimura's greatest friend and comrade. Roughly twenty years of age, but is well-known as one of the best (if not the best) ninjas in Hi-No-Moto. Head of the Sanada Ten Braves (Sanada Jūyūshi, 真田十勇士) and a force to be reckoned with in spite of his usual laid-back demeanour. Harnesses the abilities of darkness and fights using twin giant shurikens. From the anime version of the canon, after the end of the second season. As a Weapon he takes the form of his original giant shurikens, and is now in a strange partnership with Yuffie Kisaragi of Final Fantasy VII fame along with Kasuga (?!?!) - and together, they live in Fatality Condominiums 6A (?!?!?!?).

seto inlands ☍ aki & shikoku.
		Chōsokabe Motochika [長曾我部元親] Leader of Shikoku, known by others as the Demon of the Western Seas. Rightfully independent, he rules the lands at the age of twenty-two and is called by his loyal men as 'aniki'. Fights using a giant anchor, which does a great deal of damage and also lets him surf and fly on it (don't ask). Is in a constant state of deadlock against Mori, which applies even if he's from the anime version of the series, coming after the end of season two. Obviously a Meister with the ability of Soul Leader, and partnered to one Heiwajima Shizuo from Durarara!!. Lives in Fatality Condominiums 2B, right besides where Date and his own company stays now.

Mōri Motonari [毛利元就]

Rules the land of Aki with an iron fist, and one that still stands strong despite already being in his forties; seeks to take over Shikoku, but is in a state of deadlock against Motochika even in game canon, at the end of the blue path. Sees the sun Nichirin as a great thing and pretty much worships it, wanting to take over Hi-No-Moto for its sake. Uses a ringblade as his choice of weapon and uses the power of the sun through it to decimate those who may stand before him. Thinks of himself as a genius and sees everybody as pawns or pets - which might be why he is a Meister given the skill of Clairvoyance... and unpartnered for now. Casualty Communal 1B is where he currently stays in, and he wishes to blow up the sun of this world for it is not the Nichirin he knows, which he has failed to accomplished as BREW has since returned him back to Hi-No-Moto (much to the sun's own sorrow).

Tsuruhime [鶴姫]

Hailing from the remote island of Iyokono, Tsuruhime is an Oracle in her teens who possesses the ability to see into the future - she was content to remain in her home, but left in order to put an end to the clash between the East and the West. User of a bow and arrow she embodies the power of ice and despite her small stature, is able to put up quite a fight. Hailing from the game version of the canon, on her red path before the climatic battle of Sekigahara - as a Weapon in this world she takes the form of a longbow, though unpartnered as of yet. Living in place of residence, who knows how she will take living in this new world with different versions of people she was once familiar with.

peacekeepers ☮ echigo & kaga.
		Kasuga [春日] A ninja of great skill whose loyalty lies with none but Uesugi Kenshin and serves him fully and wholly. Around the age of twenty-two, she fights with an assortment of kunais and wires, and uses powers of light. She does not get along so well with Sasuke and will deny any claims of an engagement with him. Her form is that of a ninjato as a Weapon, and currently in a three-way partnership with Yuffie Kisaragi of Final Fantasy VII along with Sarutobi Sasuke (?!?!). Lives in Fatality Condominiums 6A with the both of them (?!?!?!?!), having decided to stay here and help the best she can so that the war can be finished quickly and she may return back to Kenshin's side. Comes from the anime version of the canon, after the end of the first season and before the second begins.

Maeda Keiji [前田慶次]

Known better as the Vagabond of Maeda, Keiji is a man who swears fealty to none and lives in his own pace of life even if he is only twenty-two. A peace-lover, he only seeks friendship and not discord amongst others and would do his best to encourage that (much to the annoyance of some at times). Uses a larger-than-life odachi as his weapon, and does like to have a friendly fight from time to time if its allowable. Hailing from the second season of the anime between episodes eight and nine, he is a Weapon who assumes the form of his own odachi called the Kotohajime kaku no Gotoshi (Like How Things Begin) and is unpartnered. Has been returned to Hi-No-Moto however, though hopefully he'll return again one day.

		Tokugawa Ieyasu [徳川家康] The man who will come to eventually unify all of Hi-No-Moto and form the foundation of present Japan. A great believer in the concept of bonds, Ieyasu holds them in the highest regard as he seeks to unify the broken land of east and west. Ruler of Mikawa and the Eastern Army at the young age of eighteen, he fights using his own fists in order to show his determination of unifying the land. Comes from the game, at the end of the red path and is a Meister who inspires all with his Manly Soul ability. Unpartnered as of the moment, and after an incident with Mitsunari now lives with Date and his company over at Fatality Condominiums 2A.

Ishida Mitsunari [石田三成]

Called the Cursed King by many, Mitsunari was once a loyal retainer to Hideyoshi, and with his death at Ieyasu's hands he now seeks vengeance against the one who took away his reason to live. Roughly eighteen years of age, he leads the Western Army under the banner of Hideyoshi as he fights to avenge the death of his lord and deal divine retribution. Battles with speed and with his katana, noted to be one of the fastest attackers in the canon. Like with Ieyasu he hails from the game, on the blue path before his battle with Ieyasu and Date in the summer Osaka campaign. Ironically though he is a Weapon, taking the form of a katana and is unpartnered currently, living in Casualty Communal 3K... right beside where Ieyasu once was.

Takenaka Hanbei [竹中半兵衛]

Once the chief strategist of the Toyotomi Army, Hanbei is around his thirties and suffers from tuberculosis which puts him short on time in order to realize Hideyoshi's dreams in wholly unifying the nation. Hails from the anime version of the canon, at the last episode of season two after falling off the cliff once the duel with Koujurou happened. Commands the power of shadow back in Hi-No-Moto, and now in Death City is a Meister (and unpartnered) with the power of Clairvoyance - surely a most terrible thing when combined with his intellect. Resides in Casualty Communal 1P, and perhaps nobody but himself will know what his plans are in this world.

neutrals & remnants ☁ saika faction + oda forces.
		Saika Magoichi [雑賀孫市] Head of the independent Saika faction, a group of mercenaries well-renowned for their skills, though they will only serve those who truly respects them. Fierce and independent and currently in her twenties, Saika lives only by her own rules and does not allow anything to interfere with that. Guns and firearms are her weapons of choice, and she fights a fierce battle with them against any opponent. From the game, she arrives after the end of the blue path and is a Meister with the ability of Soul Leader. Residing in place of residence, she's just seeing how things will go now in this strange new world.

Oichi [お市]

Known better to other's as Oda Nobunaga's sister, Oichi is what is left of the now-ruined dark glory of the Oda forces. Though only in her early twenties, her life has only been one of great tragedy - one heartbreaking thing happening to her after another - and the result has left her to be but a shell of her former self. Though as a Weapon she assumes the form of the two-bladed naginata she formerly used, she has long forgone conventional weapons and makes use of her demonic powers to attack through shadow hands and tendrils. Hails from the game version of the canon, in the purple path before she battles against her brother (who came out of Hell like the badass he is). Lives in Casualty Communal 3O, and only time will tell how she is going to cope with this new world... or maybe not, as she has been returned since.
